The Spectrum Noir blog archives is a gold mine for tips on coloring and new techniques to try. I found an awesome one by Nicky Hayden on how to add depth using a black Spectrum Noir Pencil to add depth to an image. She used the Spectrum noir Pencils for the whole image but I colored it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and used the pencil just for adding some shading and make the image pop. I did love the effect, my first try just ended up looking dirty so for the next try I added less black and only to small areas and then I blended it out with the blending solution. You can find Nickys tutorial here, her owls are amazing!
