If you read my last post earlier today you know I was a lazy bum all through the holidays. So I totally forgot to post anything last week so here's an extra post today to compensate. I got a new smaller Art Journal and made a first page in it. I was thinking I'll never fill it all in one year so it would be nice to separate the years and that's why I started by making a 2016 page. I used my Spectrum Noir AquaTints for this, mostly. A couple of blues for the background (05 and 02) nd then some gold to make it shommer (70) and white for the numbers (66) You can't really see all the details of the background because of the bad lighting at this time of the year. I took this photo in the middle of a clear day with snow outside to reflect more light and also lightened it up a lot in Photoshop but it still looks too dark. I can't wait for spring... I did some stamping with water to remove some color, I stamped faint white dragonflies here and there and did some splatters and other things for texture. I also made an image transfer for the circle with the geometric shapes in it.
this year I have decided to step down from the CiLi in Papers DT where I used to blog mixed media. I'll just do it whenever I feel like it now so there will probably still be some art journal pages here on the blog, but not every other Saturday like before. This month is also my last month with the WOW team, I have really enjoyed my time on that team and am excited to see what the new team comes up with. I'm also happy to have designed a new stamp set for their latest release, it's called Mariposa. It's a set full of beautiful butterflies, one is really big to cover most of a card front. I'll be back with more on those later. In other news I learned that I passed the Copic coloring exam and are now a ECCP Copic Coloring Master, yay! It took me a couple of years to get there but I think I learned a lot and had fun while doing it. A lot of the techniques I learned is easy to apply on other kinds of coloring so I think and hope it made a difference over all in my coloring.
So that's all the news I have for now. I really look forward to see what crafty surprises 2016 might have for me.
