I got some glass etching creme in my package and that was the first thing I grabbed when I started creating. I’ve wanted to try glass etching for quite some time. I turned the house upside down to find a suitable project and found a jar from IKEA in need of a make-over. If you are going to give your project as a gift it’s nice to etch a monogram or a sentiment. I chose a graphical pattern instead.

To do galss etching you will need a Silhouette Cameo, some vinyl and glass etching creme. Use the Cameo to cut a mask from the vinyl. Put the vinyl on your project, making sure that it’s flat on the surface to prevent any cream from geting in under the mask. Put an even coating of etching creme on your project and wait. After the creme has had time to do it’s magic you put as much creme as you can back in the container. Then rinse of your project under running water and remove the vinyl mask. That’s all there is to it.

If it's crafty I have probably tried it. Or plan to try it tomorrow. I love to be creative in all ways, but I tend to gravitate to making cards, coloring and diecutting. I also have a bad yarn shopping.... ehm... KNITTING... habit. I live in Sweden with my husband, two cute minions (also known as kids) and three dogs. I work from home at a small international development company during the days, and craft while listening to audio books or follow my favourite series at nights and on weekends. I love it when I don't have to leave the house, being an introvert and socially awkward and all. That's why my slippers to shoe ratio is close to 1:1 and I'm not ashamed to admit it ;)

Make my day, leave a comment :)
