Grattis!

This week I’ll show you a fun birthday card made in a cool technique made with the Cameo. I’ve used the summer themed papers from Echo Parks Paradise Beach collection.

I’m not sure if there is a name for this technique but this is what I’ll do. I take the same cut file in the same size and cut it twice from different patterned papers. I exchange the cut out pattern in one of the papers with the other paper and glue it all together on a piece of cardstock. You can say that it’s like a jigsaw puzzle, the surface is smooth when I’m done. I’ve made the background from this technique. It is a bit time consuming but the result is really fun and you can get great effects by using different combinations of papers and patterns. Just try not to use to intricate patterns, it takes a lot of time to put them together.

Since the patterns are quite intense I didn’t use a lot of decos. I cut a banner and put a couple of brads on it, I also used some twine and a layered sticker from My Minds Eye. I’ll keep this cards in my stash, waiting for the right ice cream-crazy kid to have their birthday.

If it's crafty I have probably tried it. Or plan to try it tomorrow. I love to be creative in all ways, but I tend to gravitate to making cards, coloring and diecutting. I also have a bad yarn shopping.... ehm... KNITTING... habit. I live in Sweden with my husband, two cute minions (also known as kids) and three dogs. I work from home at a small international development company during the days, and craft while listening to audio books or follow my favourite series at nights and on weekends. I love it when I don't have to leave the house, being an introvert and socially awkward and all. That's why my slippers to shoe ratio is close to 1:1 and I'm not ashamed to admit it ;)
