Foil and sparkle butterfly

Maya isaksson design in papers minc butterfly

The reactive paint from Heidi Swapp is really fun to play with, I made a bunch of cards using foil for my posts at Design in Papers the last few weeks. This one was made with a stencil, pink foil and watercolors. The lovely stamp is by Sheena Douglass and I double embossed it and colored with Spectrum Sparkle pens. I made a bunch of backgrounds at once when I had the foil and the Minc out, and this was the last of them. I might experiment some more and make a few more. This is super fun.

I will start working on some special projects for October soon. I can't tell you more than that I'm super excited about this. You will definitely want to pencil in a visit to the blog then because you don't want to miss this :) Fun times ahead!

If it's crafty I have probably tried it. Or plan to try it tomorrow. I love to be creative in all ways, but I tend to gravitate to making cards, coloring and diecutting. I also have a bad yarn shopping.... ehm... KNITTING... habit. I live in Sweden with my husband, two cute minions (also known as kids) and three dogs. I work from home at a small international development company during the days, and craft while listening to audio books or follow my favourite series at nights and on weekends. I love it when I don't have to leave the house, being an introvert and socially awkward and all. That's why my slippers to shoe ratio is close to 1:1 and I'm not ashamed to admit it ;)

  1. The paint I used is by Heidi Swapp and made to use with the Minc. It’s called Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Paint Medium and there is also reactive screen paint. I saw her show mist as well in a video but I’m not sure if it’s released yet, I haven’t been able to find it in Sweden so far. But the paint is so much fun :)

  2. What kind of reactive paint are you speaking of?? I love foiling and I am interested to find a reactive paint that you are able to just add somewhere and then are able to foil!! The butterfly just tops it all off!!! Very beautiful!!!!

  3. Okay, I am going to have to try this. I love the way you foiled this, dry embossed and then layered everything on this card. I also like your use of the staples on the sentiment. Great card!!
